Abstract This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the first harvest period on the timing and yield of the second harvest of asparagus (Asparagus officinalis L.) under  greenhouse conditions. A comparing between the first harvest and second harvest yields according to the fern growth timing suggested that the shorter the first harvest period, the more rapidly the second harvest could be undertaken after the first harvest. It was subsequently possible to begin the second harvest after the mother fern had experienced growth for 20£30 days. The first harvest yield of ¡®treatment first harvested for 2 weeks¡¯ was the lowest at 294 kg/10a, whereas the second harvest yield was the highest at 1,336 kg/10a. The first harvest yield of ¡®treatment first harvested for 8 weeks¡¯ was the highest at 795 kg/10a.
